Show the existing and proposed use

Provide available existing records, proposed drawings and an explanation of each area’s use. Mark new partitions, ceilings, equipment and storage changes. Ask the qualified team what it needs to assess effects on protection rather than deciding from the number of heads visible.

Reconcile drawing revisions

Identify the revision used for the quote and the revision used for construction. Route later changes to the sprinkler designer and contractor. If existing drawings are unreliable, ask what site verification is needed and include access in the plan.

Coordinate finishes and interfaces

• Ceiling design and component locations.
• Obstructions and equipment coordination.
• Alarm, detection and electrical interfaces where applicable.
• Associated access and finish restoration.
• Local submissions, tests and closeout records.

Protect occupied-building continuity

Ask qualified personnel to establish authorized work and interruption arrangements. Plan notifications and access through the property’s management process. Do not let a finish crew reposition, cover or paint sprinkler components as ordinary trim.

Complete the record before the next renovation

Retain accepted changes, final drawings and applicable test or acceptance records with the building information. Ask the team which occupancy conditions apply. A future project should begin from the completed layout, not an abandoned tender drawing.
